Help – We have no HR (New Manager & Change)

Recently, I was introduced to a small retail organization that had just hired someone to take on the role of General Manager.  This role included managing the staff and implementation of policies and procedures along with other typical managerial responsibilities.  There were 41 employees in the company, 42 now that he had been brought on board.

Are we losing communication skills?

First of all, let me say that I am on Facebook, I am on a number of Linked In sites, and I even have a Twitter account – so I am not against any of these forms of communication…in moderation.

What I would like to say though, is that I sometimes get concerned about how much we have allowed these forms of communication to take away the social interaction of real people because moderation does not seem to be the norm.
